  masks

Masks have been worn by many in Japan long before they became an essential item in 2020. I use a 'sarashi', a long length of white cotton, which has several uses in Japan, including a tight wrap worn under a festival jacket and to bind a woman around her waist after giving birth. Following requests in August 2020, I started to pair this fabric with prints and my workshop moved into a new direction.
